UNIMAID VC Acknowledges Overwhelming Support in Bereavement

In a poignant expression of gratitude, Professor Aliyu Shugaba, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the multitude of individuals and institutions that offered unwavering support and condolences following the recent loss of his dear mother, Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Abdullahi.

Professor Shugaba, on behalf of his entire family, expressed profound gratitude to a diverse array of individuals, including notable political figures and leaders such as His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Borno State, and other Governors.

The Vice-Chancellor also extended special thanks to Deputy Governor Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur, Federal and State legislators, the Honourable Minister for Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, the Chancellor, HRH Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad 1, CFR, JSC (Rtd), and Emir of Lafia Bare Bari. He also acknowledged the support of traditional rulers both within and outside Borno State, former Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, and senior government officials.

Within the academic community, Professor Shugaba expressed gratitude to former Vice-Chancellors, members of the Top Management Committee (TMC), Senate, Committee of Provost, Deans, and Directors (CPD&D), as well as the medical leadership of the University's Teaching Hospital. He further appreciated the solidarity from representatives of security agencies, the business community, elders of Borno, executives and staff of tertiary institutions, the mass media, students, and numerous other dignitaries.

The Vice-Chancellor concluded his expression of gratitude with a humble prayer for abundant rewards from Allah for all those who extended their heartfelt condolences and support during their time of bereavement.
