UNIMED Opens Postgraduate Admission for 2025-2026 Academic Session
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, has announced the commencement of admission into its Postgraduate School for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, has announced the commencement of admission into its Postgraduate School for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The programmes available include Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s (M.Sc/MPH), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees across multiple disciplines.
According to the school management, applications are open to suitably qualified candidates who meet the outlined requirements.

General Admission Requirements
All candidates must have a minimum of five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or their equivalents.
a. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Graduates of UNIMED or other recognized universities in relevant areas.
- Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit from recognized institutions.
b. Master’s Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant areas with at least Second-Class Honours from UNIMED or other recognized universities.
- Third-Class Honours degree holders or HND holders with a relevant PGD (minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or Upper Credit in PGD) may also be considered.
- All candidates must meet the basic entry requirements of five O’Level credits in relevant subjects.
c. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
- Master’s degree from UNIMED or other recognized universities with a minimum weighted average of 60%.
Application Procedure
Interested candidates are required to complete the online application form via the university portal and upload relevant documents, including:
- Degree and diploma certificates
- Academic transcripts (to be sent directly by institutions attended)
- Three reference letters
- NYSC discharge/exemption/exclusion certificate (for Nigerian applicants)
- A 500-word statement of intent in the proposed research area
Only candidates whose transcripts are received within the application window will be considered. Applicants are advised to include active email addresses and phone numbers during registration.

Duration of Programmes
- PGD: One calendar year
- Professional Master’s: 3 semesters (one year)
- Academic Master’s: 2 years
- M.Phil./Ph.D.: Minimum of one year (for M.Phil.), three years (for Ph.D.)
