University of Abuja Strengthens Institutional Partnership with National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies

Sulaiman, in a move aimed at reinforcing institutional collaboration and expanding areas of strategic engagement between both organisations.

The delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, and included principal officers such as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Rosemary Udeozor; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Muhammad Umaru Ndagi; Acting Registrar, Sambo Mohammed; Bursar, Shiva Rae Kondoun; Director of Procurement, Muhammed Ndace; Director of Physical Planning and Development, Ezekiel Ripiye; and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mutiulah Olasupo.
During the engagement, both institutions reaffirmed the importance of sustaining their long-standing relationship while exploring new frontiers for collaboration in research and policy development.
Key areas identified for potential partnership include legislative bill drafting support, legal and governance research, gender studies, and parliamentary engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening evidence-based policymaking in Nigeria.
The Director-General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abubakar O. Sulaiman, welcomed the delegation and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with the university in areas of mutual national interest.

Both parties noted that the strengthened collaboration would enhance capacity building, promote interdisciplinary research, and bridge the gap between academic scholarship and legislative practice.
