University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) Appoints New Vice Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua, has appointed Professor Solomon Tamarabrakemi Ebobrah, as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.

The Governing Council of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua, has appointed Professor Solomon Tamarabrakemi Ebobrah, as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Last year, the tenure of the former Vice-Chancellor, Professsor Kingston Nyamapfene, a Zimbabwean Professor of Agriculture, expired and the process of appointing a new Vice-Chancellor began in earnest.

Solomon Ebobrah is a Professor of Law at the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State.

He was a two-time Dean of the Faculty of Law during which period he brought about laudable developmental strides to the Law Faculty.

Until his new appointment, he was the Director of the Institute for Niger Delta Studies at the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, UAT, Barrister Kemela Okara (MON) enjoins him  to bring his wealth of experience to bear and nurture the young University of Africa, Toru-Orua to global visibility.

He takes over from Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, who was holding forth as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Professor Ebobrah’s appointment is with immediate effect.
