University of Ibadan Reiterates Commitment to Research-Intensive Agenda
The University of Ibadan (UI) has reaffirmed its commitment to being a research-intensive institution, leveraging innovative research to strengthen diversity through strategic partnerships and collaborations. This was stated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, during a courtesy visit from a delegation from the University of France.
The University of Ibadan and the University of France have expressed interest in establishing a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU will incorporate joint research, student and staff exchange, joint curriculum development, and programs.
The University of Ibadan is transitioning into a postgraduate university, reducing its undergraduate intake and increasing its postgraduate admission quota to accommodate cutting-edge research activities. This move aims to produce top-class researchers who will become leaders and builders of other universities.
The University of Ibadan is a member of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), which provides opportunities for collaboration and partnership with other research-intensive institutions in Africa.
The University of Ibadan has consistently been ranked as one of the top universities in Nigeria and Africa, recognized for its academic excellence and research impact.
The partnership between the University of Ibadan and the University of France is expected to enhance research collaboration, student and staff exchange, and joint curriculum development.
