University of Jos Receives NUC Approval for 18 New Academic Programmes
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the establishment of 18 new full-time academic programmes at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), set to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session.
The approved programmes encompass a diverse range of disciplines, including data science, cyber security, software engineering, philosophy, music education, radiography, physiotherapy, entrepreneurship, public administration, forensic science, pharmacology, and social work.
The NUC conducted a comprehensive resource verification visit to assess the university's human and material resources, ensuring that UNIJOS is well-equipped to provide quality education in these new fields. The programmes are currently approved for full-time undergraduate delivery only.
This development marks a significant milestone in the university's commitment to excellence and preparing students to meet contemporary challenges. The university is expected to uphold the quality of these programmes by ensuring the continuous provision of adequate human and material resources.
