University of Maiduguri Announces Christmas and New Year Holiday Schedule

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released its official holiday schedule for the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, in line with public holidays declared by the Federal Government.

According to a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, the university community is advised of the following arrangements:

Christmas and Boxing Day Holidays

• Public Holidays: Thursday, 25th December, and Friday, 26th December, 2025.
• Office Closure: University offices will close at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 24th December, 2025.
• Resumption: Offices will reopen on Monday, 29th December, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

New Year Holiday

• Public Holiday: Thursday, 1st January, 2026.
• Office Closure: University offices will close at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 31st December, 2025.
• Resumption: Offices will reopen on Friday, 2nd January, 2026.

The circular, signed by Mrs. Amina M. Abdullahi, Director of Human Resources, notes that essential services will continue throughout the holiday period to ensure smooth operations of the university.

The notice is directed to all staff and students, with a copy forwarded to the Vice-Chancellor for information.
