The College of Community Health, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Higher Diploma in Community Health programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The College of Community Health, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Higher Diploma in Community Health programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

General Requirements

All applicants for both the two-year and one-year programmes must possess:

  • Diploma in Community Health (CHEW) with a valid licence.
  • A minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) obtained in not more than two sittings.

Required subjects include:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology or Health Science
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Additional Requirements for the One-Year Programme

Candidates applying for the one-year programme must also possess any of the following:

  • B.Sc. in Community Health
  • B.Sc. in Public Health
  • B.Sc. in Health Education

Method of Application and Important Dates

Application fees are:

  • ₦10,000 for the one-year programme
  • ₦5,000 for the two-year programme

Payments are to be made physically at the UMTH Billing Office.

After payment confirmation, applicants are to obtain their application forms directly from the College of Community Health, UMTH.

The application window opens from 4th May 2026 to 30th June 2026, while all completed forms must be returned to the College on or before 14th July 2026.

The entrance examination and interview have been scheduled to hold from 20th July to 24th July 2026.
