University of Missouri's Global Exchange Programme Director Meets LASU VC to Discuss Partnership
The Director of the Global Exchange Programme at the University of Missouri- St. Louis, Prof. Temidayo Akenroye, visited Lagos State University (LASU) to discuss potential collaboration opportunities with LASU's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.

In a bid to foster international collaboration and academic exchange, the Director of the Global Exchange Programme at the University of Missouri- St. Louis, Prof. Temidayo Akenroye, recently engaged in discussions with the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello. The meeting, held on May 15th, 2024, at the Vice Chancellor's office on the 7th floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building on LASU's main campus in Ojo, aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities between the two institutions.
The visit, facilitated by Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, Director of the Directorate of ICT at LASU, underscored a growing interest in strengthening ties between LASU and the University of Missouri. Prof. Akenroye's primary objective was to solidify ongoing discussions and formalize plans for collaboration between the two universities.
During the meeting, Prof. Akenroye, a distinguished professor of Supply Chain Management, commended LASU for its remarkable progress in recent years under the leadership of the current administration. He expressed satisfaction with LASU's academic standing and technological advancements, noting the institution's impressive rankings and innovative initiatives. He highlighted LASU's ICT-driven innovations as particularly noteworthy and conducive to fostering collaborative efforts.
Reflecting on LASU's evolution, Prof. Akenroye emphasized the importance of partnerships in advancing global education and research agendas. He acknowledged LASU's potential as a strategic partner for the University of Missouri and expressed his institution's readiness to engage in mutually beneficial collaborations.
In response, Vice Chancellor Prof. Olatunji-Bello welcomed Prof. Akenroye's visit and affirmed LASU's commitment to fostering international partnerships. She assured Prof. Akenroye of LASU's support and cooperation in exploring collaborative opportunities between the two institutions.
The fruitful engagement concluded with both parties agreeing to explore various avenues of collaboration, including staff and student exchange programs, research partnerships, and technology-driven initiatives. Additionally, discussions centered on enhancing Nigeria's blood supply chain through joint research and innovation efforts.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Kabir Akinyemi from LASU's Directorate of Linkages, Partnerships, and Collaborations, alongside other senior officials.
