A tragic incident has shaken the community of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, as reports emerge of the abduction and subsequent killing of Maxwell Okeke, a student of the university. According to sources, Maxwell was involved in a minor motorcycle accident on his way back to his hostel from school. Witnesses reported seeing him engaged in a discussion with some youths, who were victims of the accident. Subsequently, Maxwell left with them to an unknown destination.

Concern grew within the university community when Maxwell failed to return, prompting a search that sadly ended with the discovery of his decomposing body near a river in the community. Confirming the incident, university spokesperson Elom Ubochi expressed deep concern over the abduction and killing of Maxwell Okeke, describing him as an extra-year student in the Department of Accountancy.

The university's Directorate of Security Affairs, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, has been actively involved in efforts to ensure Maxwell's safe return. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, as Maxwell's decomposed body was eventually found under a bridge at Nwakpu village. The university management, while condemning the heinous act, emphasized that there were no cult-related activities on campus leading to Maxwell's death, affirming the peaceful nature of the campus environment.
