Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has named Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), as the acting Vice-Chancellor, following the end of Professor Charles Esimone’s tenure today, June 3, 2024.
The appointment was confirmed during a special Senate meeting held at the University Auditorium. This move aligns with a circular from the National Universities Commission (NUC), dated May 28, 2024, directing outgoing Vice-Chancellors to nominate a Deputy Vice-Chancellor to oversee the office temporarily.
