UNIZIK Students Gain Cryptocurrency Training at Blockchain Conference

The event was organized by the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) in partnership with the Anambra State ICT Agency, Yellow Card, Crypto Bootcamp Community, and UNIZIK Blockchain Lab. The conference centered on the theme "Opportunities in Blockchain and the Future of Web3."

UNIZIK Students Gain Cryptocurrency Training at Blockchain Conference

Around 2,000 students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka have had the opportunity to receive training on trading cryptocurrency to enhance their financial independence while pursuing their education. They were introduced to the use of Yellow Card and Blockchain for these purposes.

The UNIZIK Blockchain Conference was held at the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies within UNIZIK Awka. The event was organized by the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) in partnership with the Anambra State ICT Agency, Yellow Card, Crypto Bootcamp Community, and UNIZIK Blockchain Lab. The conference centered on the theme "Opportunities in Blockchain and the Future of Web3."

During the conference, Mr. Fred Agbata, representing the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting blockchain technology at the state level. He emphasized the commitment of Governor Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo's government to fostering a conducive environment for the advancement of blockchain technology.

Mr. Obinna Iwuno, President of SiBAN, highlighted the significance of blockchain technology in the 21st century and encouraged young people to familiarize themselves with it. He stressed the value and potential of blockchain technology for Africa, urging participants to acquire the necessary skills to become service providers and innovators in the blockchain ecosystem.

Additionally, Paolo Abamwa, Marketing Manager at Yellow Card Nigeria, outlined their mission to ensure financial inclusion for every African. Yellow Card offers cryptocurrency exchange services, including Yellow Pay, which facilitates cross-border money transfers across 17 African countries.

The conference included panel discussions where participants explored various topics, such as personal branding, contributing to societal needs, gaining experience, networking, volunteering, and using technology to solve real-world problems.
