The US Embassy’s Public Diplomacy team, led by Brian Neubert, recently embarked on a diplomatic visit to Kano and Jigawa States, focusing on strengthening educational, cultural, and innovative ties.
In Kano, the team met with Bayero University Kano's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, and explored the Kano State Library, which houses an American Space. They also visited the Blue Sapphire Hub, engaged with local influencers and creatives, and toured significant cultural sites, including the Gidan Makama Museum and Kofar Mata Dye Pit.
The delegation’s visit continued in Jigawa, where they met with the management of Federal University Dutse and the Ministry of Higher Education. They concluded their trip with a respectful visit to the Emir of Dutse, HRH Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi.
These engagements are part of ongoing efforts to build a stronger relationship between the US and Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of cultural diplomacy and collaboration.
