"The entire school is being demolished for total rebuilding. We are not going to preserve a history of decayed and obsolete buildings," a supporter of the government's initiative stated. "A modern and functional GTC is coming up in a few months."

Advocates for the demolition emphasize the necessity of modernization and efficiency in educational infrastructure. "If only you know how much Europeans are spending to preserve their old buildings. Gentrification must occur for a city to thrive," another person remarked.

Critics of the demolition have been dismissed as sentimentalists by supporters. "Who memory help?? If they will build a new school they should go ahead and demolish everything if they want to. Which dirty memories," commented Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, a local youth leader. "I don't see any history here to preserve unless you want to mock the government in future."
