We Have Zero Tolerance for Examination Malpractice - UNICAL Council Chairman
The 14th Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Calabar, DIG Udom to Ekpoudom (Rtd) has expressed his readiness to combat examination malpractice stating that the Council under his watch has zero tolerance for the unethical practice.

The Pro-chancellor stated this at the Senate Chamber of the University of Calabar when he led members of the recently inaugurated 14th Governing Council of the institution to have an interactive session with the members of the University of Calabar Senate.
The Chairman of the Governing Council tasked Senate members of the University to steadfastly chant and encourage diligence among the students adding that hard work does not kill and that offenders will unfailingly be punished.
The erstwhile Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) who owed his appointment to God and the goodwill of the President Tinubu-led administration said the 14th Governing Council is on a mission to lift up the good name of the institution and will do everything humanly possible to achieve that.
He pledged on behalf of his colleagues to improve the University's rating, reach, and standing in the community of varsities.

In an earlier address, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi welcomed members of the Governing Council. They described the initiative of interacting with the apex academic organ as thoughtful and instructive.
Prof Florence Obi in her remarks detailed the membership, and functions of the University Senate describing the current Senate members as efficient and productive to the growth of the institution.
Prof Obi remarked that the Senate under her leadership has graduated the highest number of graduates since the inception of the University and described the members as selfless, humane and considerate when they mobilized 650 students for the NYSC scheme even when they were on strike.
She summed up her address in these words " I have enjoyed the support of my colleagues"

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science Education, Prof Alice Asim, the Provost of the College of Graduate Studies, Prof Eyong Eyong and the Head of the Department of Accounting, Dr Eme Efiong appealed to the Pro-chancellor and his team to address 'quality' when employing Staff, security concerns, increased funding and staff welfare.
