The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar( Unical), Prof. Florence Obi says her administration will remain committed to recognizing the significant contributions of the institution's retired heroes.

Prof. Obi stated this at the College of Medical Sciences Assembly Hall during a Farewell party for retirees of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof. Angela Oyo-Ita, the varsity administrator expressed gratitude to the retirees for their unwavering dedication and immense contributions to the institution's growth, acknowledging that their impact can never be fully celebrated.

Also speaking, the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Ngim E. Ngim praised the retirees for their impact during their years of service, noting that they have left a lasting legacy in the lives of both staff and students.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science, Prof. Paul C. Inyang-Etoh said he was delighted to have served under the retirees during their active years in service.

While describing them as ' mentors and fathers' of the Faculty, he said that their legacies will endure as their dedication and passion will be deeply missed.

The event featured goodwill messages from staff and students, the presentation of plaques and gifts, as well as the Commissioning of the Student's Resting Centre and the Office of the Dean.
