Wigwe University Grants Scholarship to Exceptional WAEC Student

Stephanie, who hails from Enugu State, obtained 9 distinctions in her WAEC exams, comprising 8 Bs and 1 A. Despite her remarkable academic record, she has been unable to pursue further education or apply for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) due to financial constraints. Wigwe University has extended a scholarship offer to Stephanie for nursing, contingent upon her performance in the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Wigwe University Grants Scholarship to Exceptional WAEC Student

Wigwe University has awarded scholarship to Nigerian student, Ani Oluebube Stephanie, for her exceptional performance in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams. 

Education activist and CEO of Educare, Alex Onyia, disclosed this in a post, highlighting Stephanie's achievements and the challenges she faces due to financial constraints. "I just got informed of a 19-year-old Ani Oluebube Stephanie from Enugu who got 9 distinctions in her WAEC exams last year, but has not been able to attempt JAMB because of no money to apply," he wrote.

Onyia revealed that Stephanie aspired to study Nursing at the university but had to abandon her educational pursuits due to lack of financial support. In response to her predicament, Wigwe University has extended a scholarship offer to Stephanie for nursing, contingent upon her performance in the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

"Wigwe University will be supporting her education and, in addition, offer her scholarships in a related course of study if she does well in her JAMB next year," Onyia added.

Expressing concern for other students facing similar challenges, Onyia emphasized the importance of providing educational support to those in need, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic aspirations.
