YABATECH Celebrates NSQ Graduates

Yaba College of Technology through its Center for Open Distance and Flexible E-Learning in collaboration with MTN recently held a graduation ceremony for the apprentices trained in phone repairs. The training birthed by the National Skill Qualification framework is aimed at Yabatech.
The ceremony, which was held at Yaba College of Technology Academic Board Room was attended by Principal Officers of the College, MTN team led by its Chief Strategic Office,r, and officials of Compute and Tecommucation Association of Nigeria(COMTEAN).
The training program, designed to equip the apprentices with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the phone repair industry, lasted for six months. The program was a combination of theory and practical training, and the apprentices were taught how to repair different types of phones, including iPhones, Samsung, and other popular brands.
During the ceremony, the Graduands were presented with start-up kits, which included tools, equipment, and materials to help them start their businesses. The start-up kits were provided by MTN, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Nigeria, as part of its commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship and job creation in the country.
The Rector, Dr. (Engr.) Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, who was the special guest of honor at the ceremony, congratulated the Graduands on their achievement and charged them to strive for excellence in all their endeavors. He emphasized the importance of skills acquisition and entrepreneurship in the current economic climate and encouraged the Graduands to take advantage of the opportunities available to them.
