Yoruba Community at Federal Poly Oko Hails Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, Over Appointment of New Registrar

The Yoruba Staff Association ( YOSA), Federal Polytechnic Oko chapter has showered encomium on the 12th Governing council and the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie on the emergence of Mr. Ayoola Adeleke Akeem as the substantive Registrar of the institution.

Mr. Ayoola who hails from Osun State received his letter of appointment from the Governing Council Chairman, Engr Dr. Barnabas Gemade during the council meeting held on 12th February, 2026.

The Yoruba Community, during a courtesy visit to the Rector pledged their continued support to the present administration led by Dr. Chioma Awuzie.

In his speech, a Chief Accountant and chairman, Yoruba Staff Association, Pastor Adebisi Julius described Rector's gesture as unprecedented while promising a firm synergy between the management and YOSA.

Adebisi also used the opportunity to inform Rector and the entire management of the forth coming Yoruba Day in the Federal Polytechnic Oko. He said the cultural day is second in the series where they hoped to showcase Yoruba culture and heritage.

An ex-officio member of YOSA, Mr. Jimoh Taiwo also appreciated Rector for placing the Yoruba staff properly, promising to reward her with hard work and support to her administration.

Responding, the Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie thanked the YOSA for the visit but stressed that Mr. Ayoola's appointment was purely on merit, charging the YOSA members to continue to thank God for throwing up one of their own as a member of the management team.

"God blesses whom he chooses to bless. The appointment is not based on denomination or tribe but on merit based on his track records.

"Let us continue to work in synergy, especially now that God has uplifted one of your own as a principal officer of this Polytechnic " she said.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of the traditional Yoruba attire, aso oke to the Rector. Present during the visit were principal officers of the polytechnic.
