“You Have Made The Right Choice”, UI VC Commends UI/NDC/MSS Course 31 Participants

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, has praised the participants of the University of Ibadan/Nigeria Defence College Master's degree in Strategic Studies program, affirming that they made an excellent choice by selecting the University of Ibadan for their academic journey.

According to Professor Adebowale, attending the University of Ibadan grants them the esteemed status of being alumni of the first and most comprehensive university in Nigeria. He shared these sentiments while warmly welcoming the 17 members of the class, who were accompanied by their faculty, during a courtesy visit to his office.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the participants to engage with other stakeholders of the University and partake in the celebration of its 75th anniversary while also giving back to their Alma Mater.

Leading the participants, Dr. Ruth O. Adio-Moses, Acting Head of the Department of Peace, Security, and Humanitarian Studies, acknowledged the significant choice they had to make between the University of Ibadan and the Nigerian Defence College. She recalled that they faced numerous challenges but successfully weathered the storm to complete the course.

Dr. Adio-Moses expressed her gratitude for the Vice-Chancellor's cooperation and support, highlighting that his goodwill had secured free accommodation and meals for the group during their five-day capacity-building project.

Captain D. O. Ajiboye, the Class Governor, extended heartfelt appreciation to the University of Ibadan and the facilitators for their contributions to the program's success. He emphasized that their selection of the University of Ibadan was deliberate, and they take pride in being part of the UI academic community.

Captain Ajiboye also assured that all members of the group would serve as exemplary ambassadors of the University.

The Master's in Strategic Studies Course 31 comprised seven officers from the Nigerian Navy, five officers from the Nigerian Army, one officer each from the Nigerian Airforce and the Police Force, along with two officers from the Nigerian Foreign Service and one officer from Mali.
