110 Barristers, Solicitors Called To UNIPORT Lawsan Bar

On Friday 29th, September 2023, the Law Students Bar Association in the Faculty of Law, University of Port Harcourt, inaugurated 110 Bar Barristers and Solicitors into the Association, Myschoolnews gathered.

The event had in attendance, the Chief Magistrate of Isiokpo Magisterial District; Lawrence Ishikaku ESQ and the Lawsan Faculty Adviser, Barr. Agent Ihua-Maduenyi.

Speaking at the event, Chief Magistrate Isiokpo Magisterial District, Lawrence Ishikaku ESQ told the student Barristers and Solicitors to maintain high regard for the law profession and obey all legal ethics as practicing lawyers at the Lawsan Bar.

The Bar Chairman, Tasie Valentine, who disclosed the total number of inductees called to Bar told Campus Journalists that the ceremony is significant as it empowers any Law student to practice at the Lawsan court.

According to Tasie, the Student Bar Association has two Courts comprising the Woli Jural Lawsan High Court and the Lawsan Court of Appeal, which are headed by Oghenemarieno Whiskey and Hon. Justice Lefaka Godsway respectively.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Law Bar Association, Anga Emmanuel Tamuno Bariebi, in a communique congratulated all the newly inducted legal practitioners who participated in the call to bar ceremony.

Leadership of the Bar Council includes: the Bar Chairman; Tasie Valentine, Vice Chairman; Anga Emmanuel Tamuno, Bar Secretary; Chris Divine Okeoma, and Ikechi Favoured Chima, the Lawsan President.
