On the occasion of World Heart Day 2023, the Cardiology Unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) took proactive measures to bolster heart health awareness within the community, Myschoolnews report.
Under the theme "Use Heart, Know Heart," UBTH organized a one-day cardiovascular event aimed at promoting heart consciousness and fostering standard heart health practices.
Held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the UBTH reception area, this event sought to provide valuable insights into heart health for the general public.
Activities kick started at 8:00 a.m and encompassed a wide array of health services and assessments to benefit attendees. These encompassed Complimentary Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Free Weight Assessments, Height Measurements, Blood Pressure Checkups, Complimentary Blood Sugar Screenings, and Free Cholesterol Level Assessments.
This holistic approach allowed individuals to gain a comprehensive understanding of their cardiovascular well-being.
Furthermore, attendees were privileged to receive medical guidance from skilled healthcare professionals, who provided counsel on maintaining a heart in optimal health.
