126 female students of UDUS Receives N30k Constituency Cash Grant

No fewer than 126 female students of UDUS from Ngaski, Shanga, and Yauri Federal Constituency, Kebbi State have on Friday 11th of November, 2022 received the cash grant of N30,000 at the Departmental library of the Department Of Sociology, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto. 

The Vanguard Press learned that about 90 students who are on the ground at the University collected their cash hand in hand while the rest reportedly received theirs at Kebbi state.  

The grant, according to Umar Mansur Yauri, the representative of Honourable (Dr) Yusuf Tanko Sununu, a member representing Ngaski, Shanga, and Yauri Federal Constituency Kebbi State is aimed at reducing the challenges facing the female gender due to their nature while on campus in the pursuit of knowledge.

Speaking further, Umar said: "Honourable Sununu is not being biased, he has been paying for the accommodation of the male students in Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State University Of Science And Technology, Aliero, Kebbi State and the ones in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto."

The President of Yauri Emirate Students' Association (YESA) Usmanu Danfodiyo University Chapter, Muhammad Shehu Manir, while advising the benefiting students to use the cash grants productively, sent words of appreciation on behalf of the association to the Honourable House Of Representative for the kind gesture rendered.

He further urged students who are not captured in the grants to reach out to him. He said: "And if you are not active nor registered with the association already, do not hesitate to do as opportunities like this will keep passing you by," he said.

Shemau Garba, a law student beneficiary while appreciating Almighty Allah and Honourable Tanko Sununu said: "You know we are just resuming, I am going to use the money to purchase provisions, foodstuffs, and handouts."
