A 23-year-old Industrial Training student from Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, was allegedly drugged to death during his birthday celebration in Agbo Ibeku, Abia State.

In a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 23-year-old Industrial Training student of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwnana, Ebonyi State, identified as Chinedu Hope, was reportedly drugged to death during what was supposed to be a birthday celebration in Agbo Ibeku, Abia State.

According to gathered reports by myschoolnews, the young man was allegedly lured by his friend, identified only as Dan, to a hideout operated by a drug baron known as Yoko in Umuodudu Ibeku. Chinedu, who was known not to indulge in hard drugs, was convinced by Dan to join him at the hideout after much persuasion.

Chinedu's mother, Mrs. Stella Ogbonnaya, recounted the tragic events leading to her son's demise. Upon arriving at the hideout, Chinedu waited for Dan in a Keke, unaware of the danger that awaited him inside. When Dan finally emerged, Chinedu followed him into the hideout, where he was confronted by Yoko and four others.

Despite Chinedu's refusal to partake in the drugs being offered, he was forcibly restrained, tied up, and administered a lethal concoction of methamphetamine and jico. Witnesses described the horrifying scene as Chinedu struggled and pleaded for help, expressing intense pain in his stomach.

As Chinedu's condition deteriorated rapidly, a call was made to a young man named Aham, who rushed to the scene and attempted to revive him. Tragically, despite their efforts, Chinedu was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
