The U.S. Embassy announced that the EducationUSA Fair will provide prospective students with direct access to international admissions officers.

50 Top U.S. Universities Set to Participate in 2024 EducationUSA Fair in Abuja and Lagos

EducationUSA Nigeria, the U.S. government’s official source of information on U.S. higher education, will host its 23rd annual EducationUSA College Fair from September 17 to 19 in Abuja and Lagos.

The fair will enable prospective students to interact directly with international admissions officers from 50 leading U.S. colleges and universities, including Harvard University, Columbia University, The George Washington University, Tulane University, and Spelman College. These institutions represent the geographic diversity of the United States and offer a range of academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with international admissions officers, EducationUSA advisers, and U.S. Embassy representatives about educational opportunities, the student visa application process, financial aid, and the cultural aspects of studying and living in the United States.

“The United States has renowned higher education programs and remains the destination of choice for international students,” said U.S. Mission Public Diplomacy Counselor Lee McManis. “The upcoming EducationUSA college fair is a great way to explore the amazing educational opportunities that the United States has to offer.”

Nigeria sends more students to American colleges and universities than any other country in Africa and is the seventh largest source worldwide of international students to the United States. In the 2022-2023 academic year, a record-breaking number of more than 17,000 Nigerians pursued U.S. graduate and undergraduate degrees.

The College Fair will begin in Abuja on September 17 at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, continue in Lagos on September 18 at the Ecobank Pan African Center, Victoria Island, and conclude on September 19 at Pistis Hub, Maryland. Participation is free, but registration is required.
