A total of 915 students from the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, have successfully accessed financial support through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), a federal government initiative aimed at assisting students with educational expenses.
The news was disclosed by the university’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, who issued a statement on behalf of the institution. Expressing the university's gratitude to NELFUND, Adeoye congratulated the beneficiaries for their success in securing the loan.
The statement from the university reads, “This is to inform the university community that the university has received loan funds for 915 students. We are grateful to NELFUND for this vital support to our students. We also extend our congratulations to the beneficiaries."
The university has announced that the loan recipients will be invited to a meeting next week for proper documentation. Additionally, students who have already paid their school fees for the 2023/2024 academic session will be refunded. The beneficiaries will have the option to either receive the refund or use the funds to pay their school fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The university also encouraged students to apply for the NELFUND loan for the upcoming academic session when the platform reopens. Meanwhile, all students are urged to pay their school fees for the 2024/2025 session promptly, as only those who have completed their payments will be granted access to lectures and examination halls.
This initiative continues to provide much-needed relief to students facing financial constraints, enhancing access to education across the country.
