The prolonged closure, which has lasted a month, has resulted in a range of difficulties for alumni, notably affecting their ability to obtain academic transcripts and certificates.

The university's lockdown has put many processes on hold, causing distress amongst alumni. An alumnus who had applied to a Canadian university for postgraduate studies voiced his deep concern. He revealed that he had invested over 7 million in his planned education, with a transcript and certificate submission deadline set for September. Initially, he was optimistic that the university management would rectify the situation quickly. However, as time progressed, he found that little progress had been made towards resolving the ongoing issue. The lack of resolution has put his investment at risk, causing significant anxiety and frustration.

The alumnus emphasized the need for the university management to act promptly to alleviate the hardship faced by many AAU graduates, who are grappling with the consequences of the lockdown.

Recalling, the university has been closed for a month due to a dispute over an alleged increase in school fees. Students have been protesting for a reversal of the purported increment. However, the university management has denied implementing any increase in the fees. The stalemate continues, affecting both current students and alumni alike.
