Ambrose Alli University has approved the rustication of 27 medical students following allegations of examination misconduct and impersonation within the institution’s College of Medicine.

The affected students, drawn from Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Anatomy, and Human Physiology, are reported to be in 300, 400, and 500 levels.

According to the university, the disciplinary action ranges between two and four semesters of rustication, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the University Registrar, Oluwayomi Agbebaku, who disclosed that the decision followed recommendations from the institution’s Mobile Disciplinary Committee of the College of Medicine for the 2024/2025 session.

She stated that the affected students will be barred from participating in both internal and external examinations throughout the duration of their suspension. In addition, some academic records will not be upgraded, while at least one student’s result will not be computed until completion of the sanction period.

However, one of the accused students was exonerated after investigations, with the student’s mobile phone returned following a formal warning.

Ambrose Alli University emphasized that the action reflects its strict stance on academic integrity, examination ethics, and zero tolerance for misconduct within its academic system.
