ABIA STATE: 15-Year-Old Sensation Wins 2023 Icons Music Reality Show

In a dazzling display of talent, 15-year-old SS3 student, Miss Mary Joseph from Queen of Queens Girls Secondary School, Mbano in Imo State, emerged victorious in the 10th edition of the Icons Music Reality show. The highly anticipated grand finale, organized by Vision Africa 104.1 FM in Umuahia on Sunday, showcased Mary's exceptional singing prowess as she outshone nine other talented contestants.

Mary, who performed Whitney Houston's classic "Look to You" and her original composition on the event's theme, "Let There Be Peace," captivated the audience with her sterling performance.

Expressing her excitement after the win, Mary, who aspires to become a journalist and a gospel artist, revealed the challenges she faced as a boarder without a cellphone. She recounted how organizers had to communicate with her through her teacher during the selection process.

As the deserving winner, Mary was presented with a cheque for a cash award of N500,000. Reflecting on her achievement, she said, "I'm thrilled to win and be recognized as the youngest icon among the 10 winners this show has produced since its inception."

The competition was fierce, and Master Victor Ngwakwe claimed the first runner-up position, earning a cash prize of N300,000. The second runner-up, Miss Chidinma Aso, took home a prize of N200,000.
