In a recent development from the Student Union Government (SUG) of Abia State University, changes have been made to the award categories for the upcoming Hall of Fame 2023 Awards. The Office of the Public Relations has officially announced that the Special Recognition Category will no longer be administered by the Public Relations Officer (PRO).

The decision follows a resolution by the Hall of Fame planning committee, emphasizing the need to diversify roles within the SUG, particularly in the context of award presentations. Henceforth, the responsibility for presenting the Special Recognition Awards will be transferred to the Union's Director of Socials.
