ABU Inaugurates Committees to Implement Directorate System

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has inaugurated two committees to implement the directorate system, aimed at expanding opportunities for staff career progression and aligning administrative practices with best practices.

The first committee, chaired by Professor M.N. Maiturare, will implement the directorate system in the Registry Department, while the second committee, chaired by Professor Mohammed Dauda, will restructure administrative units under the Vice-Chancellor into the directorate system.

The committees are expected to review existing structures, propose directorate models, identify key positions, and develop implementation roadmaps. The initiative is part of ABU's efforts to modernize its governance architecture, enhance career progression opportunities, and improve service delivery.

The committees have six and eight weeks, respectively, to submit their reports and recommendations. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, expressed confidence in the committees' ability to deliver on their mandates.
