ABU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala Opens International Law Conference

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Kabiru Bala, officially opened the three-day International Law Conference organized by the university's Faculty of Law. The event began at the School of Postgraduate Studies, ABU Zaria, with the theme "Law and Contemporary Societal Issues."

Prof. Bala emphasized the relevance of the theme, noting that law must evolve to address contemporary challenges in areas such as crime, intellectual property, health, technology, and human rights. He highlighted the conference as a platform for the exchange of ideas and collaboration among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.

Prof. Salim Bashir Magashi, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Dean of the Faculty of Law, spoke on the importance of law in addressing societal issues and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. He noted that 101 abstracts were received for the conference, emphasizing its goal of promoting dialogue and collaboration.
