ABUAD Emerges Nigeria's Best University for the Third Consecutive Year

Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) has been named the best university in Nigeria for the third consecutive year by the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact World Universities Ranking. The 15-year-old private institution also ranks fourth in Africa and 142nd globally.

Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) has once again been recognized as the best university in Nigeria, according to the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact World Universities Ranking. This marks the third consecutive year that ABUAD has achieved this distinction.

Chief Afe Babalola SAN, the university's founder, announced the news during a press briefing in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. He highlighted the university's remarkable accomplishments, noting that ABUAD is ranked first among Nigeria's 264 universities, fourth in Africa, and 142nd among the 2,152 universities ranked globally.

ABUAD also achieved the top position worldwide in Social Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and was recognized as the best in Outreach Programmes and Stewardship with a score of 98.2% in the impact ranking.

Chief Babalola attributed ABUAD’s success to its quality curriculum, stable academic calendar, and the dedicated efforts of the university community. "Our 15-year-old university has again been ranked as the No. 1 university in Nigeria and number 142 in education globally," he stated.

He emphasized the importance of education in addressing the challenges facing Nigeria, including economic issues, ignorance, extremism, poverty, religious bigotry, and tribalism. Chief Babalola urged other Nigerian universities to emulate ABUAD's commitment to comprehensive and innovative education.

Expressing gratitude to the university staff, Chief Babalola encouraged them to continue their hard work and dedication. "I encourage all members of staff to see our current ranking as a call to duty. Our goal is to remain number one in Nigeria and strive to be number one globally in every area," he said.
