Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, celebrates Professor Stella N. Lemchi's two-year tenure as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Professor Lemchi assumed office on July 22nd, 2022, as the 13th substantive Provost of the institution, formerly known as the College of Education. Since her appointment, she has made substantial strides in enhancing the university's academic and administrative landscape.

Professor Lemchi prioritized student welfare from the outset, implementing measures to combat harassment and streamline processes for NYSC mobilization and certificate issuance. Her efforts resulted in the successful mobilization of three batches of students for national service last year, marking a historic achievement after nearly a decade.
