Adekunle Ajasin University to Offer Lecturing Positions to 32 First-Class Graduates

The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA), Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has announced that 32 graduating students of the 2025/2026 academic session who earned first-class honours will be offered automatic employment as graduate assistants, subject to their interest after completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA), Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has announced that 32 graduating students of the 2025/2026 academic session who earned first-class honours will be offered automatic employment as graduate assistants, subject to their interest after completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Prof. Ige emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s policy of retaining its best graduates to contribute to academic excellence. “The university has a policy to give automatic employment to its best graduates. So, the 32 First Class graduates can get the opportunity, if they are willing, after their NYSC programme,” he stated.

A breakdown of the undergraduate results shows:

  • 5,251 undergraduates: 32 First Class, 1,444 Second Class Upper, 3,177 Second Class Lower, 582 Third Class, 16 Pass Degrees.
  • Postgraduate students: 526 graduands, including 32 PhDs, 492 Master’s degrees, and 2 Postgraduate Diplomas.

Ahead of the convocation, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, has been invited to deliver the convocation lecture.

Prof. Ige highlighted that AAUA has maintained 100% accreditation for all academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC). He also stressed his administration’s focus on continuous staff training, professional development, and infrastructural growth, despite the financial challenges facing Nigeria’s education sector.

This convocation marks Prof. Ige’s final ceremony as Vice-Chancellor, reflecting the university’s commitment to producing highly skilled graduates ready to contribute to national development.
