AFUED Muslim Community Welcomes New Chief Imam, Dr. Ismail Odeniyi

The Muslim Community of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has formally welcomed Dr. Ismail Odeniyi as the new Chief Imam of the University Mosque, following the retirement of his predecessor, Dr. S. S. Zubair.

The Muslim Community of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has formally welcomed Dr. Ismail Odeniyi as the new Chief Imam of the University Mosque, following the retirement of his predecessor, Dr. S. S. Zubair.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the AFUED Muslim Community, Professor AbdulRasheed Oloyede, described the appointment as a divine arrangement. He expressed optimism that Dr. Odeniyi’s emergence would usher in peace, unity, and progress within the institution.

Professor Oloyede commended members of the Muslim Community for their active participation in monthly prayer meetings and urged student members of the congregation to be diligent with their academic responsibilities. He advised them to pay all necessary dues to the University and to register their courses on time to avoid academic setbacks.

He also expressed gratitude for the financial contributions made towards the construction of the University Mosque, praying that Allah would reward every donor abundantly.

Delivering his first sermon as Chief Imam, Dr. Ismail Odeniyi emphasised the importance of faith in Almighty Allah, describing Him as the one who makes all things possible. Quoting verses from the Holy Qur’an and referencing the six articles of faith, he called on the faithful to seek Allah’s guidance constantly to enjoy divine blessings.

The programme, which held at the University Mosque, featured Qur’an recitation, supplications, and prayers for AFUED, the Ondo community, and the Nigerian nation.

The event was attended by members of the Muslim faithful within and outside the University community.
