The National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), a research arm of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, achieved an early victory as the 18th Research Institute Games of Nigeria (RIGAN) commenced at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Rashida Abdulmumin of NAPRI won the gold medal in the women's shot put, showcasing exceptional skill in the event themed “Women's Digital” shot put.
NAPRI’s volleyball team also started strong, defeating the host team, CRIN, 2-1 in their opening match.
