Al-Hikmah University Named Best Private University in Kwara State by KWACCIMA

Al-Hikmah University has been named the overall best private university in Kwara State. The accolade was awarded at the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) Award Night held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Banquet Hall, GRA, Ilorin.

The university’s victory was the result of a comprehensive poll conducted by KWACCIMA over a three-month period. The Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, attended the Award Night with the management team and other senior staff members, including Prof. G. A. Akashoro (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Kazeem Oladimeji (Registrar), Mr. Hafis Omoniyi (Bursar), Prof. A.O.Y. Raji (Dean, Postgraduate School), Prof. L. F. Oladimeji (Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), and Dr. Sikiru Nurudeen (Director of Academic Planning). The delegation also included staff from the Information Unit and selected students from the university.

Founded in 2005 by the AbdulRaheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF), Al-Hikmah University holds the distinction of being Nigeria's first Islamic faith-based university. It started with an initial enrolment of 70 undergraduate students across three faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, and Management Sciences. Today, the university has grown significantly, boasting over 6,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 postgraduate students across seven faculties: Agriculture, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Management Sciences, and Natural and Applied Sciences.
