Borno State University VC, Professor Haruna Dlakwa Continues Familiarization Visits

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University, Professor Haruna Dlakwa, has continued his familiarization visits to key departments within the institution.

Recently, he visited the Department of Works, Physical Planning and Development, Division of General Studies, and Students Affairs Division.

During the visits, Professor Dlakwa engaged with the heads of the departments, discussing their challenges and needs. He assured them of his commitment to addressing their concerns and improving the overall operations of the university.

At the Students Affairs Division, Dean Dr. Grema Mustapha expressed his appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor's support and highlighted the critical nature of his work. He appealed for a vehicle to be allocated to the division to facilitate its operations. In response, Professor Dlakwa assured Dr. Mustapha that his request would be granted and directed the Transport Officer to allocate a vehicle to the division with immediate effect.

During his visit to the Department of Works, Physical Planning and Development, Professor Dlakwa was received by Director Engr. Mohammed Habib FNSE. Engr. Habib highlighted the department's challenges but also informed the Vice-Chancellor of the state Governor's directive to rehabilitate the university's road network, which was damaged by heavy trucks. The project has been assigned to the Borno State Road Maintenance Agency (BORMA), with the state government covering the costs.

Professor Dlakwa expressed his appreciation to the Governor for his support to the university and promised to work closely with the department to ensure the success of the rehabilitation work.

These visits demonstrate the Vice-Chancellor's commitment to engaging with staff and students, understanding their challenges, and working towards improving the university's operations and infrastructure.
