In the midst of rising concerns over the soaring costs of education, Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has issued a stern advisory to parents, urging them not to compromise the quality of their children's education due to financial constraints.

The Commissioner's counsel came in response to protests from parents of Nkisi Regent Schools in Fegge, Onitsha, who were aggrieved by fee increments imposed by the school's management. Professor Chuma-Udeh, while addressing the concerned parents, emphasized that in the current economic climate, parents should refrain from questioning private school managements about their pricing strategies to maintain educational standards.

Highlighting the stance of the state government led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Prof Chuma-Udeh reiterated that the Ministry of Education would not dictate pricing policies to private institutions. However, she emphasized that the government was committed to intervening in cases where educational standards were compromised or where the welfare of students was at risk.
