Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (PDP), Peter Obi, has extended a generous hand to the College of Nursing Sciences at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala, Anambra State. On the occasion of World Sick Day, Obi donated N20 million to support the training of healthcare workers, with a particular emphasis on nurses.

Obi, who postponed his comments due to prior commitments related to the AFCON Finals and the passing of close friends, highlighted the importance of investing in the nation's healthcare sector for societal development. He expressed his consistent support for the College of Nursing, Ihiala, since his tenure as Governor of Anambra State and commended the institution's efforts in training over a thousand students in various medical fields.
