ANAN Sets Precedent as First Professional Body to Establish Ultra-Modern Research Centre at Taraba State University

The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has made history at Taraba State University (TSU) by becoming the first professional body since the institution’s inception to execute an ultra-modern Accounting Research Centre on the university’s main campus.

During a courtesy visit to the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, alongside members of the management team, warmly received the ANAN Taraba State Chapter executives. Those in attendance included Chairman Umar A. Baba FCNA, Vice Chairman Bala Haziel Waziri FCNA, Secretary Mr. Jerry Agbu CNA, Treasurer Kaltume Bashir FCNA, PRO Abdulhakam Aliyu CNA, and External Auditor Ephraim A. Tonga FCNA, who led the delegation.

The ANAN team commended the Vice-Chancellor for his visionary leadership, commitment, and remarkable contributions toward the growth and development of the institution. They expressed satisfaction with the ongoing projects across the university and reaffirmed their support for continuous institutional advancement.

In his remarks, Prof. Bako emphasized that the ANAN Accounting Research Centre project represents a shared and continuous responsibility. He noted that university development should not rest solely on government support but requires the collective commitment of stakeholders, professional bodies, and individuals.

He described ANAN as the first professional organization to significantly contribute to infrastructural development at TSU through the establishment of the Accounting Research Centre, describing the initiative as a landmark legacy that will promote academic excellence and research advancement.

The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the critical support of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in strengthening institutional development.
