Anchor University Lagos Secures Approval for Law Programme from Legal Council
The approval process began with a visit from the National Universities Commission (NUC) team last academic session, followed by an assessment by the Council of Legal Education team this year. Prof Bandele highlighted the thorough evaluation of the university's human resources, facilities, and environment by both bodies before granting their approvals.
Anchor University Lagos has received approval from the Council of Legal Education (CLE) to initiate a degree program in Law. Prof Samuel Oye Bandele, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, expressed his delight over this development, emphasizing its timely occurrence during the ongoing 2023/2024 admission process.
The approval process began with a visit from the National Universities Commission (NUC) team last academic session, followed by an assessment by the Council of Legal Education team this year. Prof Bandele highlighted the thorough evaluation of the university's human resources, facilities, and environment by both bodies before granting their approvals.

The university's spokesperson, Mr Babatunde Oyetoro, conveyed the Vice-Chancellor's statement, noting the legal education council's positive impression of the university's readiness for the Law program. Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, the Director General of the Council, led the team and expressed confidence in the university's ability to effectively run the five-year course. He also pledged support for any future needs that may arise.
The team commended Anchor University for patiently awaiting approval before admitting students to the program. Prof Bandele mentioned that the university would prioritize candidates who selected it as their first choice for Law, while also considering returning students interested in changing to the Law department and meeting the admission requirements for the law degree.

In addition to the Law program, Anchor University Lagos is collaborating with foreign universities, including the University of Poland and Dominican University, to jointly train students in medical and computer engineering fields.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the governing board, management, and staff for their unwavering support and cooperation in advancing the university.
