On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Ashi Polytechnic, Anyiin, witnessed the inauguration of new student officials for the 2024 academic session. The ceremony was marked by the swearing-in of the Student Union (SU) and Community of Tiv Students (CTS) officials, with Barrister Aboh Kanyi administering the oath of office.

Kanyi urged the new student executives to be law-abiding and prioritize the interests of both the students and the institution. He also called on female students to take on leadership roles by participating in future elections.

The event featured a guest speech from Mr. Iorlaha Vershima Amos, the Registrar of Ashi Polytechnic, represented by Deputy Registrar, Mr. Shianti Clement Ande. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Student Union executives and the Students Affairs Division to promote policies and programs that would benefit the institution. Mr. Ande also encouraged the local chapter of the Community of Tiv Students to register with its national body as soon as possible.
