Landmark University Collaborates with AICPA & CIMA to Enhance Graduate Career Prospects
The partnership aims to equip Landmark University’s accounting students with professional certification opportunities, practical experience, and access to extensive resources, benefiting postgraduate students and staff as well.
Landmark University, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, has initiated a strategic partnership with the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to boost the employability of its accounting graduates.
During a visit to the university on Monday, October 21, 2024, Mr. Oluseye Denton, Business Development Manager of AICPA & CIMA, presented the proposed collaboration to the university’s management. He highlighted the global recognition of AICPA & CIMA in professional accounting, ethics, and career development. The partnership aims to equip Landmark University’s accounting students with professional certification opportunities, practical experience, and access to extensive resources, benefiting postgraduate students and staff as well.
Following the meeting, AICPA & CIMA organized the preliminary round of the CGMA Business Leader Challenge at Landmark University’s International Conference Centre. Five student teams from the Departments of Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics competed in the challenge.
The team "VISIONARY-TITANS" emerged as winners with a remarkable score of 83%, qualifying for the regional competition. Other teams included "STRATEGY-VANGUARDS" (78.1%), "SYNERGY-CATALYSTS" (73.9%), "BIZ-INNOVATORS" (63.8%), and "DE-TRAILBLAZERS" (61.9%).
This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing Landmark University’s commitment to empowering its students with global opportunities and professional excellence in accounting and finance.
