The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University ATBU Bauchi has commenced degree programmes in Veterinary Medicine and Procurement.

The Vice Chancellor of the Institution Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul'azeez stated this during the combined matriculation ceremony for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions held at Yelwa campus.
Professor Muhammad Abdul'azeez represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics Professor Sani Usman Kunya said the introduction of procurement courses is to fill the skills and knowledge gaps that exist in private and public sectors of the economy.
He said that the courses designed under the TETFund established Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards - Centre of Excellence SPESSE-CE, would develop sustainable capacity in managing procurement, environment and social safeguards in the public sector.

Abdul'azeez disclosed that a total of 6,106 students were admitted across eight faculties and one Centre, with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and SPESSE- Centre of Excellence having their first set of intakes.
"Let me give a breakdown of all matriculating students according to their faculties as follows:-
