Bayero University Kano Hosts High-Level Delegation to Foster Next-Generation Innovators in Africa
The Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) at Bayero University Kano (BUK) recently hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) to evaluate the progress of the PASET PhD Programme on Natural Resources Management and Climate Change.
The discussions focused on developing the next generation of African innovators equipped to address climate challenges and drive sustainable development. The programme aims to bridge academia, industry, and policy to foster impactful research outputs for climate action.
As one of only 15 institutions selected from 147 applicants across Africa to host the prestigious PASET PhD Programme, CDA has positioned itself as a leading hub for cutting-edge climate research and innovation.
The World Bank's Senior Education Specialist, Ruth Charo, commended CDA for its world-class facilities and commitment to creating a conducive environment for international scholars.
The event featured insightful panel discussions, bringing together experts to explore critical themes in climate change research and innovation. The discussions emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, enhanced supervision frameworks, and improved research infrastructure.
