Bayero University Kano Senate Approves Faculty Restructuring and Renaming

The Senate of Bayero University Kano (BUK) held its 416th meeting on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, and approved several key decisions aimed at enhancing the university's academic structure and alignment with global best practices.

The approved changes include:

1. The migration of the Department of Economics from the Faculty of Social Sciences to the Faculty of Management Sciences, reflecting emerging trends and global standards.

2. The relocation of the Department of Library & Information Sciences from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

3. The renaming of the Faculty of Management Sciences to the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, effective immediately.
