A disturbing incident has occurred at Bayero University Kano (BUK), where a student, Maryam Bashir Yassar, also known as Trendy Boxes, was attacked by hoodlums on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred beside Mahmud Tukur Theatre, opposite the Maths Department, where Maryam was studying for her re-sit examination. The attackers, armed with a sharp metal object, struck her on the head, leaving her unconscious and bleeding profusely.

The university's security officers rushed her to the school clinic, where she received initial treatment and stitching. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she was referred to a nearby private hospital for further treatment, including a CT scan.
