On Sunday, September 15, 2024, Prof. Barnabas Achakpa Ikyo, Director of the Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER) at Benue State University, Makurdi, offered thanks to God for numerous blessings and divine interventions in his life.

During the thanksgiving service, Prof. Ikyo expressed profound gratitude for the myriad of blessings he has experienced. He highlighted his career advancement to the rank of Professor, the appointment and retention of his wife, Dr. Patience Chakpaikyo, as Director General of Benue Television, and a miraculous deliverance from a serious motor accident as key reasons for his thanksgiving.

The event saw a broad spectrum of attendees, including Ter Buruku His Royal Highness Moses Hanior, Her Royal Majesty Mrs. Shiluwa, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, Deputy Governor of Benue State Bar. Sam Ode, Vice Chancellor of Benue State University Makurdi Prof. Tor Iorapuu, Prof. Jibo, and various Benue State Government appointees and colleagues. They all joined in expressing their appreciation and gratitude to God for preserving Prof. Ikyo's life and celebrating his achievements.
